“ Five star, creative DELICIOUS food. Easy Street parking. Friendly, professional, knowledgeable staff. Nice restroom. Casual yet festive ambience. Fun place for celebrations or dates. They do NOT do take out. The focus is on the people who are present to them. And in turn, they are present to the people enjoying the warm, hospitable welcome. Pricey but SO worth it. ”
“ I went here with my coworkers for dinner and had a great time! The staff was very welcoming and a lot of fun! They accommodated all of our food allergies and we had a TON without any issue. The food itself was very good too! The options were not my typical choice of food, but Im very glad I tried new things! The soda they have is delicious my favorite beverage of the trip! And there house specialty, chicken, was outstanding. I had the trout and it was phenomenal! They said it was the last night they were making it that particular way, which was sad because it knocked my socks off! All in all, it was a great evening with great food and people! Last thought the seed loaf was interesting! Worth a try if you are curious! ”
“ What a great dining experience. Friends had heard about this restaurant but not yet visited and gosh, are we happy they let us join them! The menu is mostly gluten free and where it is not, alternatives were available. The flavors were well paired the artichoke and green olive salad is a great way to start a meal. The wine list offers a great variety at most price points. From a truly gluten free perspective, the max and cheese was good would have like a little more flavor, but thats probably personal preference. The friend chicken was next level perfect mix of crispy and moist and not too greasy. The brownie sundae featured salted caramel drizzle and crispy corn flakes it was great way to end the meal. All in all, this was a delicious meal and we highly recommend the visit. ”
“ This has been one of my stableconsistent neighborhood favorites for about 15 years! They have been around for about 30 years now. The entire menu is gluten free for those who need it. And menu items rotate onoff for seasonal variance with a core set of items always staying! They even do Jewish high holiday specific menues! Overall, the service is super friendly, quirky, and super accommodating. The food has always been outstanding. From the core items, two things I ALWAYS get are the Daikon radish cake yeah, that doesnt sound good but my god, its amazing, trust me the broth, mushrooms and scallions all blend to make such the perfect bite. The other thing I get is the fried chicken. Yep, you heard me correctly. Its fantastic, as is the biscuit with honey and the mashed potatoes. I will warn you, it comes with a small side of hot sauce that is tasty but hits like you ate the center of the sun. lol!!! You have been warned. Bar is beer and wine only. They do allow corkage but dont be a jerk and bring something they have on the menu and make sure its an elevated bottle and off a tasting to the server or bar team if it is a special bottle I hate when people bring a cheap bottle to avoid buying from the restaurant. Anyway, this place is always worth a stop and has never let me down in 15 years. Good food, not Michelin quality but flavors that will make you happy, and an environment that feels comfortable, homeywarm. Plus, they have a nice outside parklet on the two days its nice in SF ”
“ Delicious art on a plate. I had the risotto croquet. There were so many different flavor groups on my plate, that was a visual work of art on its own. I also had the banana cake. There were lots of vegan options for me, but the rest of our party were meat eaters. They enjoyed the meatloaf and 2 of them enjoyed the fried chicken. For dessert they loved the brownie sundae and a slice of cheesecake. The waitstaff was incredibly kind and generous to our group as we stayed chatting for hours. Its a great space, the lighting was bright enough to see our food, but dark enough to be calming. The music was noticeable if you listened for it, but it didnt compete with chatting over food. I would highly recommend this place to vegans, vegetarians, omnivores and its the perfect place for mixed diets, they also had a large selection of gluten free options. ”
“ Top 3 restaurant for us in SF! Rotating seasonal menu, almost everything can be made glutenfree gf or vegetarianvegan. Get a reservation in advance and save room for dessert! ”
“ Cute, cozy spot with lots of veggie dishes. My favorite was the Daikon Radish Cakes w Mushrooms, but the Kugel was a close second lots of different textures. I liked that the pao de quiejo came with a couple different spreads. ”
“ Had a delightful time and meal here. Food was fantastic and unique appetizers as well as the service. Great selections on the menu and very accommodating for dietary needs regarding lactose intolerance. I hadnt been to Firefly for some time and its excellence has not changed. Staff from waitperson to auxiliary were wonderful and friendly. Only thing Id change was the music that was playing! ”
